Tour Plan
DAY 1. Start from The Golden Triangle, Chiang Sean, Chui Fong Tea Plantation, Black Housing and visit Long Neck Karen Hilltribes Village ( / L /_) Pick up time at 8.00 am.
Start from Chiang Rai hotel in the morning, we will drive to up north Chiang Rai, the Land of the Golden Triangle, where the border between Thailand, Myanmar and Laos is and this is the natural main frontier of Mae Khlong River. You can see the meeting points Panorama View of the mountainous border regions of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand.
Then we will visit the “House of Opium”, a privately-owned museum, with the story and display about the opium trade in the past that tells stories of opium in the Golden Triangle. Through beautiful antiques such as opium harvesting knives, scales, weights, pipes, mats and pillows, these tools represent the beliefs, cultures, traditions, and magnificent imagination of them Burmese, Shan, Chinese and tribal inventors in Thailand as well as the history of the region where the three countries meet.
After that, we will continue to the sightseeing and discover the history of Chiang Sean, the ancient city, which is located along Mekong River with a stop by at Wat Chedi Luang to explore the temple reflected traditional Chiang Sean style.
Then, we will continue to Choui Fong Tea Plantation at Doi Mae Salong Mountain, it is the time for relaxing with the good atmosphere and nice weather with large tea plantations. A Beautiful tea field where we could take a good breath and apart from the scenic view of tea field, it now becomes a place for desserts, and food, wide option of desserts with the green tea ingredient.
At 12.00 pm., after Choui Fong Tea Plantation, we will drive to local restaurant to have lunch. In the afternoon after lunch, we will continue to the ancient Baan Dam Museum (Black House) built by Thawan Duchanee, the national artist. It has crocodile skins and animal bones on display in really cool formats and buildings. It has numerous sets of furniture and artwork throughout.
Then, next stop is to Mae Chan district to visit Long Neck Karen Tribes. We will visit the Union of
Hill Tribe Villages, where the diversity of hill tribes come together and visit Long Neck Karen Tribe Women. The Karen is a tribal group who have historically lived in the hills in Myanmar (Burma) side of the Thai border. While the Karen men are mainly field workers and farmers, the women have a rich history of crafting from wood carving to weaving. Overall, the Long Neck Tribes live a rugged, tedious, and simple lifestyle, it is a real-life National Geographic Magazine experience to have to see to believe. After that, we will drive way back to the hotel in Chiang Rai.
DAY 2. Blue Temple, Lotus Temple and White Temple ( / L / _) Pick up time is at 7.30 am.
Check out from hotel in Chiang Rai. After picking you up at the hotel, we will head to Blue Temple or Wat Rong Suea Ten (Temple of Tigers Leaping over Channel) which is located on the banks of the Kok River, the east of the city municipality, not very far from the city. The most distinctive feature of this religious complex is the temple, which was constructed and designed by a local Chiang Rai artist. The primary color tone used is cerulean blue with gold contrast making the temple stands out. Contemporary Buddhist art reflects the dharma of the Buddha. And there is a white Buddha statue about 5 meters wide and 6.5 meters tall inside the temple.
After that, we will visit the Lotus Temple or Wat Haew Pla Kang, which is known for its unique architecture, built in Chinese-Lanna style with white walls. The pagoda is towering 9 stories tall with a pyramid shape. One of the main attractions of the extraordinary temple is the Big Buddha called Guan Yin.
Then, discover Wat Rong Khun, a modern architectural masterpiece a modern architectural masterpiece known as the White Temple. Explore this fantastical space and admire its unique decor made of glass, sculptural pieces and murals all designed by a famous Thai artist, Chaloemchai Khositphiphat.
12.00-13.00 pm. after visiting the white temple, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we will drive way back to Chiang Mai. It will take around 3 hours. You can sit back and relax in the air-conditioned transportation, and during the way, we will stop at Mae Khachan Hot Spring, as a breakpoint, with available toilet and restaurant services. Let’s take a view on the highest geyser in Thailand. We will arrive Chiang Mai and reach your hotel safely around 19.00 pm.
DAY 3. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and City Temples Walking Tour. ( / L / _)
Pick up time is at 8.00 am.
Hotel pickup time is at 8.00 am. For your information, we will drive from Chiang Mai to continue the journey to Mae Teng district, visit the Elephant Learning Center at Eco Valley. This is the charming program to satisfy your dream, Elephant Rendezvous in lower Eco valley, Thailand Tour’s one and only Elephant culture museum. Learn about herbal treatment, walk in herb garden, and make herb and fruit nutritional vitamin ball. Feed the elephant with herb and fruit balls, bananas, and sugar cane. Help with elephant’s poo paper production, and watch elephant bathing under the waterfall (Or wash them yourself!)
After that enjoy Thai lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will drive back to the city of Chiang Mai and we will drive up to Doi Suthep, the mountain on the edge of the city that dominates the Chiang Mai skyline. Once at the top, you will find the 309 stairs up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which are flanked on each side by a beautiful Naga, who runs the entire length of the stairs. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is the most sacred temple (1383 AD). The temple is located 16 kilometers from the city and 3,500 feet (1,066 meters) above sea level. Its Relic of the lord Buddha placed inside of large golden chedi attracts Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world throughout the year. While you are there, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Chiang Mai City and the Ping Valley from this beautiful mountain temple.
Then, we will continue to the old city of Chiang Mai to visit one of the city’s most famous temple. You will see Wat Chedi Luang with its large stupa, Wat Chedi Luang which was built between the 14th and 15th centuries. This impressive temple has the largest stupa in Chiang Mai. Walking around the sprawling compound, you will have the chance to see striking Lanna-style design. and after that go back to the hotel.
